There's news bulletin thing called DNN, it's news about Dave - not to be confused with CNN, which is news not about Dave. There's a section called Have You Met Dave? where there is a lovely photo of Dave and Alex having a cuddle. and a section called FREE STUFF which is exactly that! Free stuff from the man himself, including a checklist on the art being a children's tv presenter!! There loads of other stuff too!!!

Dave and Biggie 'Get Up And Go' for 2007

People get ready...

Dave has just announced he and Biggie will embark on a 55 date tour of Great Britain.

Dave Benson Phillips is doing a big 2007 tour!!!!

An important announcement
Dave Benson Phillips is very pleased to announce that he is going on the road with a live version of the popular children's video GET UP AND GO!
Dave has been entertaining children for 25 years and, to celebrate this incredible achievement, he and his furry friend BIG BEAR will be taking their fabulous GET UP AND GO show on a massive 55 date theatre tour of the United Kingdom in 2007.
Dave would love you to be there to see the show and join in the fun.
The tour starts at The Princes Theatre, Clacton, 3rd February 2007, incidentally this is Dave’s Birthday. It will continue around England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, before finishing at The Woodville Halls, Gravesend, Kent on the 30th June 2007. Other tour dates and theatres are currently being looked at for August and October 2007. Please keep an eye on the Diary section of the website for more details.
GET UP AND GO! is the perfect show for children up to the age of six. Nurseries, schools and playgroups are most welcome. The grown ups will love it too! Plenty of singing, plenty of audience participation and plenty of fun!

'Chester is spending his time working on some projects with Dave, and is currently looking for the right vehicle to launch his talents to a new generation of children and parents. So far Chester's business involvements have included, Dave's voice being used for the 'SMARTIES MELTDOWN' game for the Sony PS2 and KOCH MEDIA, inclusion for Dave in the CHILDREN'S WALK OF FAME, and a forthcoming 4 album music deal for the EARLY LEARNING CENTRE.'

BIG BEAR, Dave's New Friend

This is Dave Benson Phillips with his latest friend BIG BEAR.

Dave and 'Biggie' (as the fans like to call him) have been performing in lots of live shows around the country. I recently saw them at Butlins in Skegness, and the big brown bear was a hit with the kids - watch out Dave, there could soon be homage blogs for BIG BEAR soon!

They've even done a video together called GET UP AND GO! filmed at the Polka Theatre, Wimbledon - the place where Dave Benson Phillips first learned the art of entertaining children...bet you didn't know that!

I once overheard Dave telling a child who asked what happened with the bear after the show.

Dave replied, "he drives the tour bus!" The child was impressed "WOW!" said the child, "I can't get my Action Man to do anything!!"

Dotty About Dave

This Blog is dedicated to Dave Benson Phillips, a legendary childrens tv presenter and entertainer, and star of such shows as, PLAYDAYS, FUN SONG FACTORY, PLAYHOUSE DISNEYand of course, the totally awesome GET YOUR OWN BACK shown on CBBC. I remember rushing home from school to see Dave in action. I especially loved it when Dave used to ask the audience

"What do we do?"

To which the audience would reply "CRANK 'EM UP!" before plunging some poor grown-up into a vat of goo...aaah! happy days.

And his programmes are still being shown today, which, in this era of 'reality tv' and 'disposable celebrities', is something to be honoured.

Not so long ago, Dave even donned a furry suit to play a monster called BOUMA for the CBBC cookery show, PLANET COOK, with that scouse moustashio'd tv chef KEVIN WOODFORD.
